Hi, I’m David Brooks, and welcome to Favorite Dish Recipes, a place built out of a genuine love for good food and the joy of sharing it. I’m a home cook and recipe enthusiast, not a trained chef.
But what I bring to this site matters just as much: real time spent in a real kitchen, a constant eye on the budget, and a genuine commitment to making sure the results are something a real family would actually want to eat again.
My younger sister, Sarah Brooks, is right here alongside me. She’s my co-taster, honest critic, and the reason so many of these recipes got a second look before ever reaching this page. If something feels too complicated, too expensive, or doesn’t taste right, Sarah is always the first to say so. That kind of honest, grounded feedback shapes everything we do here.
Together, we started Favorite Dish Recipes because we noticed a gap. So many recipe sites felt overwhelming, required hard-to-find ingredients, or were clearly written by someone who had never actually made the dish at home on a Tuesday night.

We wanted something different. A site where recipes are written in plain, step-by-step instructions, built around occasions that actually matter to people: Mother’s Day brunches, Thanksgiving feasts, holiday cookie spreads, and everyday family dinners.
Every recipe we share is carefully chosen. We look for ones that work with regular equipment, everyday ingredients, and a real budget. When we make something ourselves, it doesn’t leave this kitchen until it’s right. And when we bring in recipes from trusted sources, we apply the same standards: clear, approachable, and genuinely worth your time.

What you’ll find here is not fancy. It’s honest. We’re glad you found us. Pull up a chair.
